Birmingham is also home to several other shopping malls. Century Plaza, located on U.S. 78 and Oporto Road, anchored by Rich's, J.C. Penney, McRae's and Sears, has more than 100 stores and plenty of restaurants.
Brookwood Village (Shades Creek Parkway at U.S. 280), anchored by Rich's and McRae's, is home to 71 stores, restaurants and a food court.
The mall is well known for its excellent specialty shops.
Eastwood Mall (U.S. 78 and Oporto Road), anchored by Parisian, Yeilding, Service Merchandise and Books-A-Million, has 67 stores and four restaurants.
Along with the above mentioned malls, there are also many shopping center and specialty stores scattered all in the Birmingham city area. The villages of Mountain Brook, Homewood, and the Southside of Birmingham are all home to many specialty shops that have anything from china to furniture to jewelry. Birmingham also is home to over 20 flea markets, with its largest one located at the Alabama State Fairgrounds.
University Mall is located at the intersection of McFarland Blvd. and 15th Street. University Mall has 4 major department stores.
Parisian, Sears, JC Penny and McRae's can all be found here. University Mall has a foodcourt and also has an Applebee's restaurant.
There are many different stores in the mall, that range from book stores, home furnishings and accessories as well as jewlery and specialty clothing stores.
University Mall also has several small kiosks located within the mall to meet any shoppers particular needs.
